Welcoming HSBC Life Staff Aboard Steering the Course — A Shared Commitment to Trying Something New

Hebe Haven Yacht Club and Sailability HK’s were delighted to welcome 50 HSBC Life’s staff members, from both HSBC Life Hong Kong and Hang Seng Insurance, Steering the Course 2026, joining the World Sailing women’s sailing festival for the first time. Their participation reflects the kind of mindset that moves both organisations forward. HSBC Life’s stated values—integrating sustainability and inclusion into the Hong Kong community to generate positive impact—align naturally with the spirit of Steering the Course.

By encouraging staff to step into an unfamiliar environment and experience sailing firsthand, HSBC Life is demonstrating tangible support for inclusion, wellbeing, and personal growth. This is exactly what the festival is designed to do: “Give to Gain”, create safe, supportive opportunities for people to build confidence, work as a team, and challenge themselves beyond their usual settings.

During the afternoon, participants sailed on J/80 keelboats, Mohan a 50ft Solarias yacht and Hansa 303 dinghy boats—both purpose‑built for inclusive sailing and proudly operated by Sailability Hong Kong. The experience highlights how sailing can be adaptable, collaborative, and accessible.

For our business partners and potential sponsors HSBC Life’s involvement shows how values‑led organisations can actively support meaningful participation. We hope this marks the beginning of deeper collaboration and long‑term partnership in growing the impact of Steering the Course.
